Women in Business: Never Stop Learning

We’ve talked before about how easy it is today to find a course and get learning. Starting your own business may seem overwhelming, but for anything you don’t know how to do — you will find a course for it online. And today I want to remind you: never stop learning.

Learning doesn’t stop when you make your first sale. Or got your first customer feedback. Learning will be a constant process throughout your whole life. And that’s the beauty of it! You can always learn more, find out more, change and create new things.

Having a business doesn’t mean the job is done once you’re invited to events and you get to give other women advice. You will never know everything there is to know. So, keep learning.

Learn new techniques to do the job you already know how to do. Go to events and talks hosted by other entrepreneurs, learn what they’re doing. Learn a skill that has nothing to do with your business — you never know when it’ll come in handy.

Being a woman in business is not just about your business. Especially now, it’s important to have the skills and tools to always reinvent oneself. This doesn’t mean changing your values or the nature of your business, but being open to the unexpected.

I also believe it’s never too late to change direction and try new things. If your business doesn’t turn out the way you wanted it to, you can always find another way. Be curious about other people’s way of doing things. Take a course in pottery and a dance class tomorrow. It will keep your mind fresh and teach you how to see things differently.

It’s so important for a business to be able to adapt, and if you’re the brain behind that business — you need to adapt too. And learning is the best way to do that.

It’s also true that the way you’re doing things today may not be as profitable tomorrow. Don’t be stuck with what you think is right. Try more things, new things. And never stop learning.
