Vegan Hacks: How to make your own toilet bomb

Have you been to the grocery store lately? I think besides toilet paper, cleaning products have been the most bought items in the past weeks. Empty aisle after empty aisle — it’s insane! I honestly don’t understand this need to bulk buy toilet paper! But that’s not what I want to talk about here. Here, we’re learning how to make your own toilet bomb.

What is a toilet bomb? I didn’t know myself, honestly. I’ve always used those duck-neck-shaped bottles to clean my toilet. But extreme times call for extreme measures, or at least that’s how the Italian saying goes.

A toilet bomb is basically throwing a lot of things you’d normally use in the kitchen, in the toilet. It’s easy, it’s cheap and it will save you the anxiety of not finding a proper toilet cleaner at the grocery store — who needs that in their life right now?

So, if you’ve got vinegar, a bit of baking soda and some essential oil, you’re ready to make magic.

What you need:

-1 Cup of White Wine or Cider Vinegar

-¼ cup of baking soda

-Tea Tree or a citrus essential oil

Pour the vinegar in a bowl and stir in a couple of drops of your chosen essential oil. In another bowl, pour the baking soda. Slowly, add the liquid to the baking soda, a little bit at a time. Mix gently to combine. Finally, you’re ready to pour the mixture down your toilet. Let it set for at least 10 minutes before scrubbing your toilet clean!

Lots of love,

V xx
